Funded Research Projects

  • Co-Investigator and Co-Founder, The Center for Emerging Business and Entrepreneurship, Georgia Gwinnett College, School of Business. 2016-2017.  $4000 from VPASA Seed Grant at GGC (PI: Dr. Phillip Hartley, Co-PI: Professor Jason Gordon). The Center provides GGC students with guidance and exposure regarding practical issues in business ventures and an introduction into the Gwinnett startup community. This grant is a seed grant allowing the establishment of the center and provides resources for startup and initial research.
  • Post-Doctoral Researcher, Organizational Participation in Open Communities, University of Nebraska-Omaha (funded by NSF Grant Award ID #1122642) (project previously funded by NSF through the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire), 2012-2014, $399,400 (PI: Dr. Matt Germonprez). A research collaboration focused on why organizations participate with open communities, how they participate with open communities, and what educational institutions should be teaching prospective community members regarding open community participation.
  • Researcher, Sales Process Innovation Enabled by Mobile Technology, VoiceTech*, 2005-2008, $60,000. A research and development collaboration focused on developing and applying scientific knowledge about IT-enabled process innovations and sales force automation best practices in support of sales process innovation. Utilized multiple data collection strategies including action research, interviews, and workshops. Recommendations focused on enabling sales process innovation in ways that enhance sales performance, reduce sales rep turnover, improve reporting and alerting, and make information readily.   • Researcher, IT-enabled Process Innovation in a Network of Minority Businesses, Open Systems, 2006-2009, $20,000. Worked with two CEPRIN faculty in multiple workshops focused on understanding how clients used Open Systems’ business process management platform. Co-authored conference paper on how a minority businesses network used digitally-enabled business processes to engage large partners.
  • MBA Research Assistant, Researching Gartner’s Research Process, Gartner, 2003-2004, $112,800. Assisted CEPRIN faculty in all stages of research project focused on understanding the research process at Gartner, Inc. Interviewed stakeholders at all levels of the firm, including the CEO. Helped develop recommendations presented to Gartner’s executive task force. Co-authored journal article on stakeholder perceptions.
